Hi everybody!

I hope everyone has been well. We have been busy working and riding here at Heavenly in South Lake Tahoe. As you can see from the photos HB and I have managed to get to a few different resorts on our days off. Kirkwood is 45min south of here and is a mad resort, one of our favourites. Sierra-at-tahoe is also not bad, only 30min away but a much smaller mountain.

Other then riding and going out at night we have managed to find a new roomate to replace Tony who left 2 weeks ago. His name is Scott and he is from Wisconsin, we live with an American! hard in a place like this with so many brazillians, argentinians and kiwis.

I've had a few emails asking what we get up to in a normal day in South Lake Tahoe so here it is! A quick rundown of a day in the life of a Guest Service Agent/Ticket Seller

6:15 wakeup, shower, breakfast (if we have food/time)
7:05 leave for the bus stop, still drunk from the night before, likely im gonna have to run for it
7:15 catch the bus to work, trade stories with fellow employees about what actually happened the night before at the pub, and whether anyone we know hooked up
7:30 sign in to work, if im capable of writing at this point
7:40 collect my bank from the vault
8:00 open guest service office, put out new trail maps, muesli bars to placate pissed off guests, grooming and weather reports for the day. Call the ticket office to find out if imogen really did sleep in the casino last night.
8:30 – 12:30 deal with pissed off guests who have lost their travel vouchers, want refunds, answer telephone calls asking what the weather will be like in a month (how the hell do I know??). Give people directions and information about the mountain, where to go, and what else to see in town.
12:30-2 Ride break! Head up Canyon Express and see what the snow is like, if I'm feeling good I'll drop across to the Nevada side of the mountain and see what HB is up to.
2 - 3 Try and be as stingy as possible and give as few refunds as I can, even IF they have been in the rental line for an hour. Deal with people who have had snowboards and skis stolen and try to bribe them with cough drops and muesli bars.
3 - 3:30 File missing person reports, hopefully they get found soon so I can go home. Tell nice young woman that her husband crashed and is in the ski patrol medical clinic. If im lucky I won't have to tell her that he has been airlifted to Reno Hospital, 1 hour away.
3:30 - 4 Ring chairlifts and leave messages for missing persons to call me so we don't send out the search party.
4 - 4:15 Deal with English family whose 2 week tickets are not in the system, have to ring England and deal with grumpy woken up travel agent and get the vouchers faxed across to us.
4:15 - 4:30 Missing people have been found over at the Nevada Lodges, I cvan start packing up and close to office!
4:30 - 4:45 Explain to the audit team why I gave out so many refunds and complementary tickets (ie. lie my ass off!!)
5:00 sign out, catch the bus home.
5:30 Get home, swap stories from the pervious day, cook dinner and get ready for the night ahead.
6:30 Drinking poker game starts whilst wtaching Comedy Central or if im lucky the ice hockey.
9:00 Head out to:
Sunday - Cabo wabo at Harvey's for $2 Corona's and many Brazillians to try our luck with
Monday - Blu at MontBlu Casino for $1 drinks (spirits, beer, oh my god!!)
Tuesday - Sam's, Bill's ($1 drinks)
Wednesday - House party night
Thursday - Vex at Harrah's Casino, $1 drinks, biggest night of the week
Friday - Lakeside for $2 drinks
Saturday - sleep... thank god

Next week in Australia day which is huge here. we are also planning on going to san francisco to see the cat empire, yay!
